Southern Scripts has chosen to not obtain ASHP accreditation as we feel it allows for a unique flexibility for our residents to spend more time on their professional areas of interest while simultaneously following many components of an accredited curriculum. Some specific requirements for residencies to be accredited with ASHP do not fit the business model of all companies that offer residencies, especially in the managed care space. The residency is still a structured program that is modeled around ASHP residency learning outcomes and provides a very immersive and diverse educational experience for residents to start a career within the managed care field.
